History

Year	Development
1886	Kobayashi Seidaido, an unlimited partnership company, was established by founder Chubei Kobayashi San, in Monzen-cho, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Japan. The Company sold general merchandise and cosmetics.
1894	10 types of proprietary pharmaceuticals was launched including Daikokumaru, Ichinichimaru and Tamushichinki.
1912	Kobayashi Daiyakubou, a limited partnership company, was established in Hiranomachi, Higashi-ku, Osaka, Japan.
1919	Kobayashi Seidaido and Kobayashi Daiyakubou was merged and incorporated as Kobayashi Daiyakubou Co Ltd. Soon after, the new incorporate company was relocated in Kyomachibori, Nishi-ku, Osaka. Kichitaro Kobayashi is appointed as the first president.
1939	Launched of Hakkiri, a kind of headache medicine.
1940	Spun off of the manufacturing units of KOBAYASHI DAIYAKUBOU and established of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD. Juso Plant started operations in Higashi-yodogawa-ku, Osaka (currently known as Yodogawa-ku).
1940	Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (old name) was established after separation with production department of Kobayashi Daiyakubo Co Ltd.
1948	Saburo Kobayashi is appointed as the second president.
1956	Kobayashi Daiyakubo Co Ltd (Kobayashi Drugstore) merged with Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (old name), the pharmaceutical department. The whole company was then renamed as Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co Ltd. Kobayashi Shoji succeeded all the wholesaling businesses of pharmaceuticals of Tokyo and Osaka branches.
1958	Teruko Kobayashi is appointed as the third president.
1967	Launched of Ammeltz Yoko-yoko, an external anti-inflammatory.
1969	Launched of Bluelet, a toilet bowl cleaner, and entered the household products market.
1972	Formed partnership with C.R. Bard, Inc. to establish Japan Medico Inc., a medical devices importer in US and entered the medical devices market.
1975	Launched Sawaday Deodorizing Air Fresher and entered the deodorizing air fresheners market.
1976	Kazumasa Kobayashi is appointed as the fourth president.
1983	Established of Toyama Kobayashi Pharmaceutical Co Ltd in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture.
1988	Angel Ltd became consolidated subsidiary of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD. The subsidiary was located in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture and it was mainly manufacture product of company.

1993	SENDAI KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD was established in Kurokawa-gun, Miyagi Prefecture.
1996	Launched of Toughdent, denture cleanser.
1998	SHANGHAI KOBAYASHI FRIENDSHIP DAILY CHEMICALS CO LTD was established as a joint venture company in China. KOBAYASHI HEALTHCARE INC was established in the U.S.
1999	KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD in Osaka, Japan was officially listed on the Second Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange. Nutritional supplements was launched and sell through mail-order sales channel.

2000	KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD in Osaka, Japan was officially listed on the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchange. Centre R&D Laboratory was established in Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture. Trade Company was spun-off to form Kobashou Co Ltd.
2001	KIRIBAI CHEMICAL CO LTD, a body warmer manufacturer, was acquired as a subsidiary of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL in Yodogawa-ku, Osaka. KOBAYASHI HEALTHCARE EUROPE LTD established in the United Kingdom.
2002	KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL (HONG KONG) CO LTD was established in Hong Kong. SHANGHAI KOBAYASHI FRIENDSHIP DAILY CHEMICAL CO LTD previously joint venture company, was now officially fully owned subsidiary by KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD. The company was renamed as SHANGHAI KOBAYASHI DAILY CHEMICALS CO LTD. Tochucha, a kind of Eucommia leaf tea, was took over from HITACHI ZOSEN CORPORATION and officially step into health food business.
2003	“ANGEL LTD renamed as EHIME KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD.
2004	Yutaka Kobayashi was appointed as the fifth president.
2005	Obtained the exclusive distribution rights for Inochi No Haha A, a kind of women’s health medicine, from SASAOKAYAKUHIN CORPORATION.
2006	Made EVENT MEDICAL LTD, a medical device manufacturer, is officially a subsidiary of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL in Ireland. HEATMAX INC a body warmer manufacturer is officially be subsidiaries of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL in the U.S.
2008	KOBASHO CO LTD and MEDICEO PALTAC HOLDINGS CO LTD conducted share exchange. Spun off manufacturing division of KIRIBAI CHEMICAL CO LTD to establish KIRIBAI KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD. Obtained trademark right for BISRAT GOLD from ISHIHARA CHEMICAL CO LTD.
2009	Established KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD in Singapore.
2010	Spun off medical device division into KOBAYASHI MEDICAL CO LTD.

2011	Transferred all shares of EVENT MEDICAL INC. in a management buy-out. Established KOBAYASHI HEALTHCARE (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD in Malaysia. Established KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL (TAIWAN) CO LTD in Taiwan.
2012	BRABBER INC, a body warmer manufacturer is officially joined as a subsidiary of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL in the U.S. Established PT. KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL INDONESIA in Indonesia. Established HEFEI KOBAYASHI DAILY PRODUCTS CO LTD in China. Transferred 80% of KOBAYASHI MEDICAL CO LTD shares to MITSUBISHI CORPORATION.
2013	ROKUYO PHARMACEUTICAL CO LTD, a pharmaceutical product, quasi-pharmaceutical product, and cosmetics manufacturer, is officially joined as a subsidiary of KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL. KOBAYASHI PHARMACEUTICAL AUSTRALIA PTY LTD was established in Australia. The shares of JAPAN MEDICAL NEXT CO LTD was fully transferred to MITSUBISHI CORPORATION. Akihiro Kobayashi is appointed as the sixth president. Established KOBAYASHI HEALTHCARE (THAILAND) CO LTD in Thailand. Made JUJU COSMETICS CO LTD a cosmetic manufacturer, into a subsidiary.
